Hair Loss. Your Questions Answered by Internal Specialist, Dr Mera

I am female and in my fifties and have been suffering with
light hair loss for many years which by changing my
hairstyle have been able to hide, but recently it has become
worse. Is there anything I can do, as I want to be able to
look at myself in the mirror again?

I am sorry to hear you are feeling so distressed but there is
help. With a hair transplant we can restore hair to thinning
or bald areas of the scalp using your own hair.
This simple procedure involves transplanting follicles
and hair from the back and sides of the scalp to serve as
donor hair to the area with hair loss or thinning. Results will
not be the same for all but this option is great for people like
yourself who want a natural look.
One of the main techniques can be used for hair
transplantation is follicular unit extraction(FUE). FUE is the
technique used for most women and men who want to a
natural look, with the highest rates of hair regrowth, all
whilst minimizing donor site scarring.  Regrowth rates are
extremely high and there is no worry of linear scarring.
